Tribological Properties of CNTs-Reinforced Nano Composite Materials

High modulus of about 1 TPa, high thermal conductivity over 3000 W/mK, very low coefficient expansion (CTE), electrical conductivity, self-lubricating characteristics and density have made CNTs one the best reinforcing materials nano composites for advanced structural, industrial, strength wear-prone applications. This is so because it has capacity improving mechanical, tribological, electrical, physical properties nanocomposites. So, this study aimed at providing latest discoveries on tribological behavior CNTs-reinforced composites. The reviewed included metal matrix (MMCs), polymer (PMCs) ceramic (CMCs) reinforced with CNTs. Their characteristics, uses, production challenges, conclusion recommendations are presented. work presented technique to disperse matrices avoid its agglomeration, since agglomeration major challenges in It was discovered that ball milling destroys outer walls but recommended ultrasonication functionalization before eliminate adverse effect milling.
